Summer is knocking on our doors, which means lots of backyard and pool parties on the way. I thought I’d share with you my Summer Grilling Needs and a Saucy BBQ Hotdog Recipe to inspire your summer soirees coming up. Giant Eagle has become one of our go-to’s because it has everything we need from meats, buns, drinks, dessert, chips, all the way to the kerosene for your grill! Let me show you my recent grocery trip.

Summer Grilling Needs

Main Meal: Meats

When you’re planning a summer grilling party menu, start with the main meal. Are you grilling steaks or burgers? Are you grilling hotdogs? If so, what kind? Write it down, so you can easily decide what to pair them with and what ingredients you’ll need. I decided I’d go with grilled burgers and my Saucy BBQ Hotdog recipe. I got the Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers from Giant Eagle’s meat section, and some Oscar Mayer hotdogs from the frozen aisle.

Buns and Condiments

If you’re making burgers or hotdogs, then write down the ingredients you’ll need for those. I knew I needed buns for both burgers and hotdogs, along with the add-ons and condiments.

I got some tomatoes and lettuce (not shown) at the produce section of Giant Eagle. Then, I headed on to grab some Heinz BBQ sauce and Nature’s Basket Ketchup at the condiments aisle.

I got my buns and then I grabbed some Kraft Natural Slices. I went with a hot habanero flavor to give our burgers a kick!

Drinks, Desserts, Sides and More

Once you’ve got your main dish (or dishes) down, it’s time to get the appetizers or sides, desserts and drinks. For a really quick and easy fix, I got some Ruffles chips to go with the hotdogs and burgers. And for dessert, who can say no to ice cream? I got our favorite Breyers coffee ice cream, of course!

As for the drinks, Giant Eagle has a ton of selection. So you can pick a variety of drinks to serve at your summer grilling party – be it soda, teas, sparkling and more. This time, I went with the Lipton Ready to Drink Tea in Diet Peach for a full-on summer theme!

Aside from the food and drinks, you can also find kerosene and other grilling accessories at Giant Eagle. If you’re also in need of disposable plates, napkins, spoons and forks, or cups, you can also grab those there. Giant Eagle is like the go-to grilling headquarters. So you don’t really have to go somewhere else and make multiple stops to get all your summer grilling needs.
