ODE TO NICK SABAN

Well, it’s been very somber around here. My husband and boys are mourning the retirement of Nick Saban! My husband is from Alabama and a huge fan, and so are my boys. I did not order this dress expecting a retirement from the GOAT, but it came, and I thought it was a great dress for an Alabama fan.

This is not really an ode to Nick Saban but rather a “made you look” title for a cute winter dress.

Tuesday’s shoot day turned into a little bit of a disaster. I shoot simultaneously with my friend Heather (my work wife!), and we got the day mixed up with our photographer! Instead of hauling everything back home, we decided to shoot each other. You will notice that there is no editing because I don’t know how to do that!

The other obstacle that we ran into was that it was a freezing and WINDY day. Do you know that Dallas is a windier city than Chicago? It’s true! Dallas is number 5 of the windiest cities, and Chicago is number 12…hence the hair!

Back to this fun dress.

This is a classic tweed bow dress in a houndstooth (it comes in other colors, too) with gold hammered buttons and a big front bow. If you hadn’t noticed, bows are back in a big way. Bow dresses dominated at the Golden Globes this week. This is the perfect style dress for a pair of flats for day or office attire, but add a little heel, and you are ready for dinner.

I found this dress on the Tuckernuck website. Have you all shopped Tuckernuck before? I was blown away by what they had. Everything from clothes for both women, men, kids, and dogs, to accessories, shoes, and home.

I just saw these placemats and am ordering now!

I paired the dress with opaque tights and my favorite slingback shoes of late. I threw my Gucci coat over the dress (for warmth). This coat was purchased about four years ago, but HERE is what Gucci replaced it with. I know it is expensive, but I have worn the “you know what” out of it!

I just told my husband that if I could ever find it again, I might buy another one and save it until this one is ragged. Anyway, the bag is one I picked up at a boutique in Dallas. It’s a Bottega dupe, and I found a similar one HERE.

It’s supposed to get so cold here starting tomorrow for the entire week. Two of my best friends are coming to town to stay with me.

One gets here tomorrow, and the other on Wednesday. I love it when friends come to visit. I put everything on the back burner and play!
