HOW TO WEAR A MONOCHROMATIC LOOK
Hi, everyone! Are you all feeling the holiday stress yet? I have purchased almost everything I am going to for the grandkids, but I haven’t even begun for the rest of the family. I know it will get done; it always does!
I had so much fun on my quick cruise last week. I am a “cruise” convert now. I could not believe how beautiful the Celebrity Cruise Ascent ship was! We had a fabulous stateroom on the 9th floor of a fifteen-story ship with an outside deck to drink coffee on in the morning.
I felt like I was in a hotel, not a ship at sea. I highly recommend this ship if you have ever thought about a cruise!
I saw this stunning blue satin and chiffon skirt, found the sweater and decided to do a monochromatic look. I love monochromatic dressing because it makes shopping more manageable, and pieces automatically go together. It also looks sophisticated and classic and creates a long, lean, and polished look.
Monochromatic dressing is effortless. I don’t think you need to match pieces perfectly to achieve a monochromatic look, but choose from the same color family so it doesn’t look too matched.
Start with a color you like to wear (like I did with the blue skirt) and choose pieces in different fabrics and textures. I paired a satin skirt with a cashmere sweater. This adds dimension to the look, rather than having the exact fabric on top.
I’m not a big accessory girl, but adding a pretty scarf to this blue family would complement the look. I love these pieces together, but I will wear the skirt with a white top or sweater, a moto jacket, and the sweater (it’s uber soft) with jeans. I’m also crazy about these boots! I love the shape of the heel, and they are very comfy! (The boots in the photo below are available in black)

I’ve let it slide for over a month now. Traveling is great, but it sure messes up my groove. I desperately need to do it for my bones! I also had a scare last week.
I saw my oncologist for my yearly appointment, and she felt something she had not noticed before. I was sent for an ultrasound, and the report came back as “probably normal.” I was not happy with “probably,” so I saw my plastic surgeon yesterday. He felt the area and assured me that it was a filler substance he used after my mastectomy. Whew!
I am so thankful it is nothing to worry about!
I hope you all have a great day! Stay well and Be safe! xx
