With a New Year comes excitement, but we can also feel anxious because we don’t know what the year holds. Let’s face 2024, knowing that God has been faithful in the past and will be faithful today and in the future.
As I was thinking of a verse or some encouragement to share with you today, Joshua 1:9 came to my mind: Do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
We need to listen to what God told Joshua about 3,400 years ago. As Joshua was about to lead God’s people into the promised land, he had reason to be afraid. He had an enormous task ahead of him, and he was well aware of the dangers he and the people would soon face.
He needed God’s encouragement.
A new year brings lots of questions: Will our health hold? Will the economy improve? Will there be a terrorist attack or some natural disaster? Will our families be safe?
The Creator of the universe comes to us and says, “Don’t be afraid; don’t be discouraged.” What happens in this coming year is not left to chance.
God is in charge and promises to stay close: “The LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I’m thankful I’m not starting a new year without God. While I sometimes feel anxious about all that’s going on in our world, I remind myself that God is with me.
I also think we need to encourage each other. So, I want to end the year by asking you to share a verse below in the comments that encourages you. I’d love to know the verse you cling to!
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog.
I’m also on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!
