It’s crunchy goodness, filled with seasonings and tomatoes’ health benefits, with a little decadent flavor kick. Furthermore, you can make it in about 10 minutes and store the leftovers for another day.

Whether you like to cook or not, this simple tomato salad recipe will be a keeper everyone will enjoy.

You Can Tweak This Simple Tomato Salad Recipe Easily

Another benefit of this simple tomato salad recipe is you can tweak it to your liking. Every time I make it, I tweak the recipe slightly, depending on my mood. For example, some days, I might feel like adding avocado or a cucumber. Or maybe I’ll add an onion for a bolder flavor.

That’s another reason I love making this simple tomato salad recipe. So, be sure to add this to your meal planner this week. I think you’ll agree it’s so good and easy to make. Of course, you can use a low-fat mayo, but I prefer Duke’s Real Smooth & Creamy Mayonnaise as it does not contain EDTA.

Unfortunately, Helmons Mayonnaise contains EDTA, a chelating agent you don’t need or want in your food either. It’s also used as a pharmaceutical to treat certain medical conditions you don’t want in your food. Primarily, one of the reasons I switched to Duke’s is that it does not contain EDTA and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 Plum Tomatoes (You can use any kind of tomato)
  • 3-4 Stalks of Celery
  • I Small Sweet Onion
  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Mayonaise (You can use low-fat mayo like Simple Truth Plant Based Mayo Spread Or Duke’s Real Smooth & Creamy Mayonnaise if you prefer)
  • ¼ teaspoon of dill. (You can use fresh or premade)
  • Garlic Powder (A few dashes according to your liking)
  • Onion Powder (A few dashes according to your liking)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

    1. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces
    2. Chop the celery into small pieces (if you prefer, peel
      the top stringy layer off the celery.)
    3. Chop the onion into small pieces.
    4. Place all ingredients into a medium bowl
    5. Add mayonnaise
    6. Add all spices
    7. Mix well
    8. Chill in refrigerator (or not!) 
    9. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Remember, you can add another veggie you like. For example, you can add avocados, cucumbers, etc.

You can enjoy this simple tomato salad recipe as a side dish for lunch or dinner. Last week, I enjoyed it as my dinner with a side of homemade applesauce with potato latkes. Wow, what an incredibly perfect pairing.
