WSJ. Magazine is really serving it lately. Over the last two years, covers featuring Adut Akech, Nicole Kidman, Doutzen Kroes, Regina King along with Ashley Graham have earned rave reviews. Not to mention the publication’s stellar May 2021 cover with Carolyn Murphy, Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta.

For Fall 2021, the mag welcomes Amanda Gorman with the rising star posing before the lens of Cass Bird. Fresh off the cover of Vogue, the American poet and activist’s natural beauty radiates in the timeless black and white photograph.

Of course, most of our forum members praise the outcome. “I love this for WSJ. Magazine. She looks absolutely gorgeous!” declared aracic.

“Beautiful.

She looks stunning,” echoed mikel.

“Amanda Gorman can’t take a bad photo,” noted kokobombon.

Armani clearly agrees: “Amanda is an infinitely photogenic woman. BEAUTIFUL cover!”

“She’s beautiful and that cover shot is gorgeous,” admired mepps.

“Just as I had expected…WSJ. Magazine (once again) profiling a subject far better than American Vogue.

This leaves Amanda’s U.S. Vogue cover in the dust. What a gorgeous black and white portrait, quite taken aback, especially considering it’s by the hit or extremely MISS Cass Bird,” voiced vogue28.

But not everyone shared the same sentiment. “Amanda looks pretty, but it’s just not an interesting photo as a magazine cover,” KINGofVERSAILLES chimed in.

“So much retouching on the cover! She doesn’t need it. Typical Cass Bird, always trying too hard,” ranted Benn98.
