Beauty For the HeartWhy am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11

Truth: Many believe David to be the writer of Psalm 42.

Either way, Psalm 42 is a psalm of lament that expresses deep sorrow and distress. The psalmist feels lost and alone, questioning why God seems to have abandoned him. But even in his darkest moments, he never gives up hope. He reminds himself that God is his Savior and his God, and he vows to continue to praise him.

The words of Psalm 42:11 can be a source of comfort and hope when we are feeling downcast or discouraged.

When facing difficult times, it’s easy to let our emotions get the best of us.

We may start to doubt God’s love and goodness and feel like giving up. But Psalm 42 reminds us that we can always find hope in God. He is our Savior and our God, and he will never abandon us.

If you’re feeling downcast or discouraged today, take a few minutes to reflect on the words of Psalm 42:11. Remind yourself that God is with you and that he will never leave you or forsake you.

Look for all the blessings that are around you today.

Let your beauty shine from the inside out today!
