Now that Tiffany Godoy is officially at the helm of Vogue Japan, we’re hopeful about the magazine’s future. Under Mitsuko Watanabe, we became accustom to covers photographed by regulars Luigi & Iango. Not to mention cover stars like Imaan Hammam, Lila Moss, Cocomi, Kim Kardashian and Kaia Gerber (to name just a select few) serving us pure unapologetic glamour. Recent covers have fallen short, but there are signs of promise for April 2022 as Yumi Nu becomes the first plus-size model to grace the Japanese fashion bible solo.

For the retro cover, Yumi sports a creation from Tokyo-based designer Ryunosuke Okazaki picked by Sissy Vian for the image captured by Nathaniel Goldberg.
