If you're anything like me, you've had Taylor Swift's new version of her Red album on repeat all day today. Of course, she's been busy this week on a promotional tour supporting the new release, which has included two late-night talk shows, a red carpet event, and rehearsals for her Saturday Night Live appearance.

One of my favorite looks so far has been her plum-colored velvet Etro suit that she styled with Alexandre Birman boots. Velvet is a trend that Swift brings back every fall and winter without fail—can you blame her? Especially when worn in a beautiful gemstone color, it's just so perfectly festive and cozy for the season.
