1 – Put Things Back Where You Found Them
It might seem simplistic to say, but when we are rushing around to get ready for our day ahead, we often do put stuff back. Trust me, when you take your deodorant out and use it, simply put it back!
Many leave it on the vanity along with our flat irons, makeup, and other vanity items. If you can make a habit of simply putting things back where you found them, it will help keep your bathroom clean and tidy.
So, how do you get in the habit of doing this? You need to be consistent by practicing the habit daily.
Furthermore, this helps us gradually increase the difficulty as it becomes routine.
The primary key is consistency. Be consistent. If you practice the habit at the same time and under the same conditions each day, it will reinforce the neural pathways in your brain. While it might take a few weeks to stick with this new habit, think of all the benefits.
In doing so, you can help keep your bathroom clean for longer!
2 – Use Storage Bins Where You Can
Another great way to keep your bathroom clean and organized is to use storage bins where possible. Even if you have a small bathroom, you can still utilize these bathroom storage bins as decorative elements.
Once you develop a habit of putting things away, these bins will keep you organized and keep your bathroom cleaner longer.
Plus, they are perfect for keeping categories like makeup, healthcare products, haircare, lotions, etc, from spilling into each other. Furthermore, they make a great way to conceal your personal products and are very affordable.
You can use them on top of your vanity, inside vanity drawers, and yes, even on the floor of your bathroom. I love keeping my cleaning products in a storage bin next to the toilet bowl.
This way, I can easily grab what I need when it’s time to clean.
3 – Keeping Your Shower and Tub Clean
Ideally, this is one of my favorite ways to keep my bathroom clean every day. After I shower, I use my favorite handheld shower head to hose down the entire tub and shower doors.
If you don’t own a handheld showerhead, you may want to consider purchasing one. Moreover, these showerheads are easy to install and have numerous applications.
After showering, I turn up the hot water a bit and give the area a thorough wash. Doing so helps wash away any residue, such as shampoo, soap, or oils, and keeps my bathroom clean and tidy.
For my shower doors, I keep these small Hard-Bristled Crevice Cleaning Brushes handy.
I love using them all over my home because they scrub away mold and grime from the tracks and are great for other cleaning uses.
4 – Keep Your Bathroom Clean And Trash Localized
We all have bathroom trash, and we don’t want to make it a focal point of our bathroom decor. That’s why, when I saw this Small Bathroom Trash Can with a lid, I knew it would help me keep my bathroom clean and tidy. It’s also waterproof and controls odor. It’s a win-win for any bathroom.
You can easily stow it away right next to your vanity, between your bowl and the wall or vanity.
Additionally, you’ll want to ensure your bathroom trash can has a lid. Why? Because things can easily fall off your vanity right into the trash!
For the bags, I make sure to upcycle grocery shopping bags, as they are free and fit perfectly inside.
5 – Use Disinfecting Wipes To Keep Your Bathroom Clean Longer
One of my favorite cleaning tips for the bathroom is using these Lysol Disinfecting Wipes for quick cleanups. I love how they not only clean fast but also disinfect any surface.
I always buy the bundle pack because it’s cheaper and I use them all over my home as well.
After using the bathroom, I use them to wipe down the vanity, floors, and the toilet bowl. They work fast and help me in a huge way to keep my bathroom clean and stay that way! Trust me, you will love them as much as I do.
6 – Ventilate The Bathroom
If you have an exhaust fan in your bathroom, always remember to turn it on when you enter. If you have a window, always open it even a crack, even in winter.
Ideally, this will help keep your bathroom clean by increasing air circulation and preventing mold and mildew.
7 – Wipe Down Mirrors
Many of us don’t think to wipe down our bathroom mirrors afterwards, and it’s essential to keep your bathroom clean for longer. I like keeping my favorite microfiber cloths handy and or glass cleaning wipes for a fast cleanup. I do this daily, and again, it’s a great habit to develop.
Keeping your bathroom mirrors clean is a crucial part of your daily cleaning routine. Of course, it will keep your bathroom clean and shiny, and it will look better too.
8 – Keep Your Bathroom Smelling Great All Day
Of course, an essential part of keeping your bathroom clean for longer is ensuring it smells great too.
You can use typical bathroom pre- and post-sprays, but they are expensive and don’t last that long.
I don’t like using candles in my bathroom for safety reasons, so I have some other great ideas instead.
Toilet Paper Rolls: I add a few drops of essential oils right inside the toilet paper roll. Ideally, this helps disperse the scent into the bathroom easily and safely.
Fresh Flowers: I love adding fresh, fragrant flowers to my bathroom at least once every two weeks.
Shower Scents: You can also add fresh eucalyptus, mint, or lavender right inside your shower by hanging them on the showerhead. Furthermore, this is one of my personal favorites for keeping my bathroom smelling clean all week.
Inside the Toilet Tank: You can also add a small amount of fabric softener inside your tank. Doing so will keep your bathroom smelling great, and it’s a subtle, continuous fragrance.
Febreze Bathroom Air Fresheners: I also like these Febreze Bathroom Air Fresheners because they last for 45 days and don’t require batteries or outlets.
Keeping Your Bathroom Clean Is Easy
Now, you can see how to keep your bathroom clean and keep it that way for longer.
These tips work great for me, and I know they will work for you, too.
