NEW YEAR’S EVE LOOK

Happy Friday! Ten more sleeps until Christmas! I finally feel like I am getting caught up. My daughter and family are not coming to Dallas for Christmas this year, so I mailed all their gifts yesterday. That was fun! It took four trips from my car to the mail center. Next year, I am ordering wrapping paper and getting all their gifts in LA in the fall! Speaking of LA, we are headed there to spend New Year’s Eve with them, which brings me to today’s post…New Year’s Eve Look.

Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve? As I said above, we will be in LA. My daughter and husband are having a cocktail party for their friends and children, so I won’t have to dress up too much. Usually, we either go out for an early dinner or stay in and cook. I prefer the latter. I’m not much on getting out on NYE. Many of you are, so Heather and I picked out a fantastic New Year’s Eve look. How gorgeous is this crystal-adorned long-sleeve mini-dress? Okay, I know you are wondering why I am wearing a mini-dress. First, it is the perfect party dress, and second, I am wearing pantyhose. Yes, they are back in a big way! I have not worn pantyhose or a mini dress in many years. It’s not that I think I have bad legs, but rather what the skin on those legs is doing! Pantyhose are great for hiding a multitude of s (k)ins! This dress is a showstopper, but I wouldn’t wear it without a pair of hose. I threw a gorgeous leather trench (less expensive HERE) over the dress. If a mini is not your thing, I found this beautiful rhinestone mesh dress that screams NYE party, too!

If you are staying in or going to someone’s home, I think a pair of black denim and a fun sequin blazer or a black skirt and adorned sweater is the way to go. You could even wear a pair of Sleeper pajamas! If you have dinner out with your significant other or a friend, a fun dress could be the look of the night. There are so many options for NYE. If glitz is not your thing, adding a fun sparkle shoe is another way to add some playfulness. Keep it simple, but keep it festive!

I am taking my mother-in-law to a doctor’s appointment today and then heading out with my designer (he doesn’t like the word decorator!) to look for a new sofa. Our sofa is about six years old, and I love it, but the dogs have ruined the back cushions. It’s their favorite place to lay, plus they can see what’s going on in the kitchen from that viewpoint. All I do is beat those cushions to get the divots out! It’s time!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

Stay well and Be safe! xx
