If it seems like fashion news is moving at a mile a minute, well, you're not alone. Despite our numerous social media feeds and perpetual press releases, it can be hard to keep up with the latest industry news—even as full-time editors—which is why we're trying something new and boiling it down to just the basics. Here are the five new things fashion people are talking about right now:
Van Cleef & Arpels Unveils a New Boutique at South Coast Plaza
Van Cleef & Arpels is looking more beautiful than ever. The over-100-year-old luxury jeweler recently opened its much larger, reimagined boutique in Costa Mesa, California, with two large display rooms, five salons, five specially curated libraries, and a bridal salon, creating an intimate setting for guests to discover the brand.
Notably, design elements throughout the store include art deco influences as well as more modern elements, such as the paper sculptures created by French-born artist Marianne Guély. As one of the most magnificent boutiques on the West Coast, the new Van Cleef & Arpels is a spectacular sight to behold—that's even before you start browsing the jewelry.
Louis Vuitton Launches Chapter Five of Its Artycapucines Collection. Louis Vuitton's legacy includes countless collaborations with artists, so it's no surprise that the 2023 edition of the brand's special Artycapucines Collection is creating a big buzz. Highlighting five leading contemporary artists—Billie Zangewa of South Africa, Ewa Juszkiewicz of Poland, American artist Liza Lou, Franco-Serbian duo Tursic & Mille, and Chinese artist Ziping Wang—this year's collection is a testament to the power of artistic creativity and craftsmanship. The bags are available now and already flying off shelves, as they are limited to only 200 editions per artist.
Jimmy Choo Supper Club. Last week in Los Angeles, Jimmy Choo hosted its first Supper Club event at the exclusive San Vicente Bungalows. This informal gathering, which will have events worldwide, is the first in an ongoing series in which the brand hopes to facilitate conversation, community, and the intersection of creativity and effortless glamour among the global fashion set. Notable guests, including Aimee Song, Anita Ko, Erin Walsh, Maeve Reilly, Stephanie Shepherd, and Yusra Mardini, enjoyed an intimate dinner and lively discussion highlighted with optimism, joy, and a convivial spirit of collaboration.
Hailey Bieber Fronts Calvin Klein's Holiday Campaign. Calvin Klein has tapped Hailey Bieber and Brandon Flynn to star in its new holiday campaign. In our favorite image, Bieber wears Calvin Klein's Satin Midi Dress, which is currently on sale for $69. It's the perfect '90s dress to wear to holiday parties, but it can also be dressed down with a slim-fit turtleneck layered underneath.
Balenciaga's Skiwear Collection. Balenciaga's debut skiwear collection just dropped online and in boutiques worldwide, just as temperatures are beginning to cool down for fall. This technically advanced ready-to-wear athletic equipment, attire, and gear—including waterproof and fleece-lined jeans, belt bags, boots, a snowboard, skis, a helmet, and poles—are among the first in a line of functional athletic objects that reflect the brand's signature design elements. Most items are available in black or red and emblazoned with a reflective, sporty take on the iconic Balenciaga logo for easy visibility anywhere. Whether you're down to hit the slopes this winter or prefer the après-ski crowd, be prepared to see this stylish sportswear all winter long.
