Full Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Xfinity.

A few weeks ago, I joined the Xfinity Western PA team for a virtual lunch hour to learn more about their products and offers, and their recent efforts to help our communities. I learned so much about their streaming content – Peacock, Wi-Fi services, all the way to Xfinity Home’s Advanced Security. While there are a lot of things I want to share, let’s focus on these 3 reasons why I believe Comcast Xfinity stands out from the rest. Take a look below.

3 Reasons Why Comcast Xfinity Stands Out From The Rest

  1. Content Curation For Your Streaming Needs
  2. Comcast Lift Zones
  3. Comcast RISE Program Supporting BIPOC-owned Businesses

Content Curation

Do you know that they have Xfinity editors curating content for all your streaming needs? One of them is Rose Farrales. Currently, she is the Director of Kids and Music editorial. She drives the Kids and Music entertainment categories on Xfinity’s platforms through editorially driven marketing, executive partner relationships, and strategic editorial programming. Currently, you can check out Rose in a new series, Xfinity Hangouts, where she and other Xfinity editors serve as the ultimate bridge between fans and fame to help further connect customers to the content they love.

She has led numerous notable projects, including the launch of Xfinity’s Educational Resources. This is an amazing destination of nearly 2,000 hours of programming and thousands of free titles available to Xfinity video customers. It’s a very helpful resource, giving children and parents quick and easy access to grade level specific educational programming as part of Comcast’s comprehensive response to COVID-19.

Comcast Lift Zones

Another reason why Comcast Xfinity stands out from the rest? They launched Comcast Lift Zones. What’s that? Basically, they are providing Wi-Fi access to families who may not have internet options at home for school work.

Comcast Lift ZOnes

As part of their commitment to help low-income families get connected to the Internet, they have announced plans to equip eight different locations in Pittsburgh with WiFi-connected “Lift Zones” in the next few months. Comcast RISE Program

Last, but definitely not the least, Comcast launched their RISE program. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me post in my stories about their efforts and a link to the article that shares about the steps they are taking to help support BIPOC-owned businesses in our community. I applaud companies that take that extra step to help our communities in need.

Comcast RISE

Just last December, Comcast RISE has awarded the first round of recipients – over 700 businesses who will receive consulting, media and creative production services from Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, or technology upgrades from Comcast Business, based on their specific needs. From the first round of recipients, there were eight small businesses in Pittsburgh, including my favorite Black-owned seafood takeout, Crabs R Us. I would love to see more small Pittsburgh businesses awarded!
