THE PERFECT SUMMER BLAZER

THE PERFECT SUMMER BLAZER

Happy Friday! What a blur this week has been. It will take me some time to catch up on my sleep after “my adventures in babysitting”! I’ve talked to more grandmothers who say the same thing: you forget how busy it is! It’s also a workout, and it’s hard if you aren’t used to it! I don’t want to sound like a “weenie,” but I’m pretty much a weenie! I helped my daughter take the baby to a doctor’s appointment yesterday afternoon, which was a great excuse to get out of my house since the last of the painting was happening. I think we are almost there with our addition, and I could not be more excited! I spent the afternoon with my designer on Wednesday, and we found the last two things we were looking for. We bought an enormous painting, the largest we’ve ever bought (for a big ass wall), and a new chandelier for our dining room. I’m so in love with both, but the painting is gorgeous!

Today, I’m showing a great lightweight oversized (slightly) blazer that is perfect for the summer. The blazer is a blend of cotton and linen and can go from laid-back to professional. There are two pockets on the outside and one inside, giving you a hands-free option. I love blazers, but sometimes even the summer styles can get a little warm. This blazer is, in my opinion, the perfect summer piece! I styled it with a rust color (which comes in four other colors) tank that is slightly cropped, and a tiny bit of the top of my stomach shows. I know that is not for everyone, so I have linked some longer tanks below. I guess I was feeling sassy when I bought it! I am also wearing one of my favorite pairs of jeans that I wear constantly. Ladies, this look is pretty much me every single day!

I purchased a new “girl” a while back, and I am just now starting to take her out for a spin. I bought the Chanel bag because I honestly did not have a beige handbag. I know I could have bought a less expensive one, but I’ve said before in posts that I want to be “that grandmother” that my granddaughters go into my closet, and I give each one a special bag. I see it as an investment and a gift (that I get to use for a while). It’s hard to talk about pricey items when gas and groceries are so expensive, but I bit the bullet (on the bag) before the sh*t really hit the fan. I have this conversation (struggle) a lot about posting fashion twice a week with everything going on in the world. It feels too fluffy right now, but I know everyone needs a diversion. I’m trying to find more affordable pieces, and I appreciate you all even reading this.

There is no rest for the weary. I have a friend coming in today to stay through the weekend. She leaves on Sunday, and another friend comes that afternoon for two days. My daughter and partner are headed to Los Angeles on Saturday for a week and asked me to come on Wednesday. As much as I would love to go, I turned it down because I knew I would be exhausted and needed to get my house back in order. Here we go!

Have a great weekend! Stay safe and be well! xx
